Meditations 1: The Present Truly Is The Gift Of Life.
It’s so easy to get caught into a mindset that can get trapped around negativity, subconscious fears or intrusive thoughts. Though, during my journey, I’ve realized it usually starts as soon as you wake up, and you decide who you become from it.
For example, waking up this morning seemed like it was going to take a lot from me. I already knew my day was going to busy with work, customers and as soon as I get home, the tasks at hand and goals to the development of Still Here's growth. It’s very easy to look at this and say that this could be too much, and while buried in the warmth and coziness of my bed, it’s even easier to say that I should just rest. Sleep in longer, and worry about all these tasks later.
But remember too, life is only a temporary experience. Our time here is a limited factor, and though I don’t know when it’ll come, we cannot let ourselves be absorbed by the comfort of every day. Though the tasks are important, there is still time in their arrival. I do not live in the future, where keeping my thoughts is the easiest way to build anxiety and overthink a moment. The only reality we exist in is the one we are in right now, which is what we must remember.
What a beautiful gift it is to be able to wake up to a new day. To experience the sun rise. To feel the warmth of nature’s beauty that the world is awake. To hear our favorite songs on the way to work. The people that make life all worth the while. It's important remember all the good we have, and be grateful for the gift we are given.
Just by deciding to live in the present moment, press forward and face the day with an open mind and open heart, we greatly improve the quality of our lives. Though a man’s and woman’s purpose varies, a tie that keeps them all together is the thoughts they carry. If peace and clarity is what you seek, focus on being in the present and the gift it brings.
